CitiPower is working to deliver an upgrade for the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s power supply and build more capacity in the nearby electricity network to allow Melbourne to continue to develop its medical, educational, residential, and commercial areas.

Works
We’ll be completing underground power cable connections on Therry Street, Bouverie Street, Flemington Road, Blackwood Street, Courtney Street, Howard Street and Walsh Street as per the map below. The majority of construction works were be completed between September 2024 and early 2025.

Traffic Impacts

  • During works there will be some temporary traffic impacts on Therry Street, Bouverie Street, Flemington Road, Blackwood Street, Courtney Street, Howard Street and Walsh Street.
  • Local traffic, bicycle and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times with traffic control in place to safely guide vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians around the work area.

What to expect

  • Electricity supply will be maintained, there are no planned outages during these works.
  • Works will include digging up parts of the road and footpath to install and connect underground cables.
  • Some of this work will be noisy.
