CitiPower and Powercor have launched an advertising campaign highlighting the roles we play in our community. We want to shed light on how we "stay on top of things".
Our lineys - the men and women who work on the poles and wires in our network - are the people the community sees most when we are working to keep the power on at your home or business.
But staying on top of things in a network servicing almost 1.1 million customers, takes a lot of infrastructure and great people all working together.
CitiPower and Powercor maintain and manage networks which collectively distribute electricity throughout of Victoria.
What is involved makes for amazing numbers:
- We own and operate more than 243 sub-stations which transform high voltage electricity to lower voltages
- This electricity is distributed through thousands of km of wires supported by almost 625,000 poles around the network
- We averaged greater than 99.9% network reliability; the best in the country
- Our team of around 2000 employees and local service agents operating in offices and depots across the state include highly trained experts in a wide range of professions, all focused on the reliability, safety and affordability of electricity supply to customers.
